Mask and IV

Some kids like Ellery breathe special air through a mask to fall asleep before surgery. The mask doesn’t hurt, it sort of feels like a soft pillow. They will get an I.V. after they go to sleep

Other kids get an I.V. to help them go to sleep for their surgery. I.V. means “into the vein.” An I.V. is a very small tube that the nurse slides into a vein in the hand or arm. This lets the nurse put anesthesia and special water into the body.

Hi, kids!
