Idaho's Consumer Choice – 2009/2010
St. Luke’s Boise/Meridian has been recognized as one of the nation’s top hospitals by the National Research Corporation (NRC) for the ninth time. The Consumer Choice Award honors hospitals chosen by consumers as having the best overall quality, best doctors and nurses, and the best image and reputation. St. Luke’s has received this designation from NRC annually since 2001.
100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks
for
Success – 2009
St. Luke's Boise/Meridian has been ranked among the best in the country for the second year in a row on in the 2009 Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success survey. This recognition for excellence in cardiovascular care is based on a wide set of measures including survival rates for heart attack, heart failure, angioplasty, and heart bypass; and low rates for surgical complications such as infections and severe bleeding after surgery.
Society of Chest Pain Centers Accreditation – 2009
St. Luke’s Boise and Meridian Medical Centers received full Cycle II accreditation with PCI from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. This accreditation reflects that
St. Luke’s has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceeding a wide set of stringent criteria and completing on-site evaluations. The Society of Chest Pain Centers is a non-profit international professional organization focused on improving care for patients with acute coronary syndromes and other related maladies.
Blue Cross of Idaho Hospital Quality Incentive Award – 2009
St. Luke's Boise and Meridian were awarded second place among Idaho urban hospitals by the Blue Cross of Idaho Hospital Quality Incentive Program. This program, developed in collaboration with Idaho hospitals and the Idaho Hospital Association, measures patient safety and the quality of health care in hospitals, and associates payment with good performance and outcomes.
Avatar International Overall Best Performer – 2008
St. Luke's Boise and Meridian were recognized by Avatar International as a 2008 Overall Best Performer. The Overall Best Performance award, based on results of 2008 patient surveys, is awarded to hospitals with the highest overall combined score for inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and ambulatory surgery. The award represents the top five percent in Avatar's national database.
Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals – 2008
St. Luke’s Boise and Meridian were named a 2008 Thomson Reuters Top 100 Hospitals: National Benchmarks winner. The designation recognizes the nation’s top hospitals based on performance in nine areas: mortality, medical complications, patient safety, average length of stay, expenses, profitability, cash-to-debt ratio, patient satisfaction, and adherence to clinical standards of care.
St. Luke’s was the only Idaho hospital to make the 2008 list, and one of only five hospitals nationwide to receive the award for the sixth time.
Joint Commission Accreditation – 2008
St. Luke’s Boise and Meridian were fully accredited by the Joint Commission in November 2008. The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting important performance standards.
Magnet Hospital Designation for Nursing Excellence 
In 2006, St. Luke’s Boise/Meridian was re-designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as southern Idaho's only Magnet hospital. St. Luke’s shares this distinguished award with some of the nation's finest hospitals, including Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and Mayo-Rochester in Rochester, Minnesota. The gold standard for nursing services, the Magnet Award recognizes hospitals for nursing excellence and quality patient care.

Qualis Health Award of Excellence in Healthcare Quality – 2009
St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital/NICU earned a Qualis Health Award of Excellence in Healthcare Quality for reducing Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) in preterm infants. The Children's Hospital/NICU implemented an early detection process to identify high-risk infants, and developed a pre-printed order form that contains specific VAP prevention modalities and a VAP precautions form to be posted at the head of each infant bed.
St. Luke’s Medical Imaging Accreditation
St. Luke’s Medical Imaging Departments are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, and nuclear medicine. ACR accreditation assures patients, referring physicians, and payers that St. Luke's Medical Imaging facilities have undergone a rigorous review process and meet nationally accepted standards of care.

the first accreditations in Idaho from the Society of
Chest Pain Centers (SCPC), an international
professional society focused on improving care for patients
with acute coronary difficulties.
Children’s
Hospital Accreditation
The National
Association of Children’s Hospitals
and Related Institutions has accredited St. Luke’s
Children’s Hospital on an annual basis since 1992.
