W. Christian Oakley, MD
Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. W. Christian Oakley has been
practicing surgery in Boise for more than 20 years. The most experienced bariatric surgeon in Idaho, Dr. Oakley performed the first minimally invasive weight loss operation in the state (laparoscopic gastric bypass) in 2001, and has since performed more than 750 such procedures.
Dr. Oakley is board certified by the American
Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons,
and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric
Surgery. He is a member of the active staff at St. Luke’s
Medical Center in Boise, where he is a past President of
the medical staff.
Robert Korn, MD, PhD
Bariatric Surgeon
Dr. Bob Korn has performed more than 270 bariatric procedures since 2003. He specializes in laparaoscopic and open gastric bypass as well as laparaoscopic gastric banding. Dr. Korn earned his medical degree and doctorate in cardiac physiology from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and his fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Maryland. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and critical care, and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
