Sports Medicine Symposium-Twin Falls
The Summer Institute Sports Medicine Symposium is geared toward students, coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and medical doctors, addressing common injuries and dysfunction in athletes.
Course work will include paths for pre-professionals and professionals. There will be four joint sessions for all attendees, and concurrent tracks for participants to choose the one that is of most interest. The symposium will provide practical, hands on experience from on-the-field injuries to urgent care assessment in a physician's office. Also included will be emergency action planning and a joint session addressing concussion in athletes and appropriate return to play guidelines. Thursday, June 24-Tailgate and bar-b-que with Coach Chris Petersen-Canyon Ridge High School-this will also be an opportunity to register and pick-up symposium materials. Following, Coach Petersen will speak, their will be a season high light video, former players will be in attendance and the Fiesta Bowl trophy will be on-site. The sports medicine symposium content will be Friday and Saturday. CEU's, CME's and college credit are available. 16 CEU's can be earned at this symposium. College Credit is available for an additional $50. Those interested can sign up at registration.
*CPR certification and re-certification will be available on Thursday, June 24. The class will be from noon to 4 PM. $40. Please register for this seperately.
