Vascular Lab
The Vascular Lab at St. Luke's Magic Valley is a full-service, accredited vascular lab providing non-invasive testing of the arteries and veins of the upper and lower extremities, abdomen, and neck.
Exams Performed
- Carotid Artery Scan
- Upper/Lower Extremity Arterial Scan
- Upper/Lower Extremity Venous Scan
- Abnormal Scan:
- Aorto-Illac
- Hepato-Portal (liver arteries/veins)
- Mesenteric Arteries
- Renal (kidney arteries/veins)
Reasons for Exam
- Carotid stroke or TIA (mini-stroke) – third leading cause of death in the U.S.
- Venous-DVT – More than 500,000 deaths per year due to pulmonary embolus, the major complication
- Arterial-peripheral vascular disease (legs) – Similar to coronary artery disease of the heart. Heart disease is the number one leading cause of death in the U.S.
Lab Information
- Exams performed are considered non-invasive and utilize ultrasound (no needles, dye radiation, or side effects).
- No prep is required except for abdominal exams.
- Most exams take one hour or less.
- Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Waiting time is minimal.
Vascular Lab Location
Enter the hospital through the Emergency Department
entrance. Go straight down the hall past the elevators to
the Cardio Pulmonary Department.
Parking
Parking is available in the East Parking Lot.
Shuttle service is available 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday. Valet
parking is available at the Main North entrance
by the Medical Office Building.
